Home Marketing Systems, Inc. began in 1984 as a typical property management company handling 600 units around Western Michigan University. In 1985 the technology adventure began with the introduction of the first computers. By 1990, the company broadened its use of computers by creating a database of former tenants and using it as a credit reporting function. In 1995 the first web page of housing was created to market housing to the student population. Nineteen ninety-nine saw the unbelievable achievement of renting 90% of its units through the direct marketing of its web page and the creation of a new company format of ‘special’ management services for the general industry. Included in this format is the direct web marketing of products and services important to the student market and those trying to reach it. Other services include management, investor consultation, credit report re-marketing, lender recovery services, field inspection services and Broker Price Opinion services. HMS is working hard to provide to the industry the best services available through dedication and technological innovation in a highly competitive business environment.
