Michael
Fleckenstein, MA, GRI
President & CEO, Home Marketing Systems Inc.
Michael Fleckenstein has spent 20 years in
the real estate management and marketing field. He has specialized in residential
investment properties associated primarily with the college student market. After
graduating from WMU with an MA, Michael taught at the university level, worked as an
environmental consultant and began investing in real estate. Michael is primarily involved
in corporate management, business development and real estate marketing. He is an avid
bluegrass musician and is on the board of the Great Lakes Acoustic Music Association. When
hes picken and grinen , not even his family can reach him.
Eric Holladay, BBA
Project Manager
Eric came to Home Marketing Systems Inc. with
10 years experience as a condominium grounds manager. He became involved with the
management of the Michigan and Ohio HUD project, managing about 1700 repossessed homes
during that project. He currently manages the lender recovery division of the company for
clients like Countrywide and the Dept of Veterans Affairs. Duties include inspections,
security and prep for remarketing. Eric is immersed in fast pitch softball, traveling to
the extremities of the Midwest. He is known as Doc to his teammates presumable
due to his quick draw throws from home to second to beat the steal. Were not sure
hes got much time for that anymore with two little ones now.
Jeanette Blaszczyk, WMU senior
Director of Marketing
Jeanette is currently a senior at Western
Michigan University where is pursing a Bachelors Degree in Marketing with a minor in
economics. She plans to graduate in June 2001. Some of her duties include: market
research, advertising and promotions. Outside of work Jeanette likes to workout and spend
time hanging out with her friends. She also does volunteer for organizations on campus. We
asked her to volunteer to work here but she insisted on getting paid.
Abigail ODell, BBA
Data & Image Manager
Abigail has recently obtained her
Bachelors in Business Administration with a major in Human Resource Management
and minors in Marketing and General Business from Western Michigan University. Her
duties include: Data Management concerning various accounts and special projects, Digital
picture processing and archiving, Web Page Development and upkeep, as well as day to day
office duties. Abigail is an alumni of Alpha Kappa Psi, The Coed Professional Business
Fraternity.
Sonia Mitchell, BBA
Accounting Manager
Sonia received her degree in Accountancy from
Western Michigan University. She is primarily involved in accounts receivable, accounts
payable, reconciling accounts, modifying tenant ledgers, and many other accounting
functions that occur from day to day. Sonia began her college career at Kalamazoo Valley
Community College with an athletic scholarship. She spent most of her time playing
Softball and Volleyball. She is currently pursuing her CPA license. Now she spends most of
her time studying. Funny how life is.
Jessica Sylvester, BA
Property Manager
Jessica received her degree in interior
design where she finds great satisfaction in assisting her builder-husband in his
creations. She is primarily involved in monitoring managed properties, accounts
receivable, collections and tenant relations. Her early experience included driving up and
down the I-80 interstate managing the redevelopment of the Holiday Inns in that corridor.
There she learned the fine art of selecting wallpaper, managing the incredulous owner and
keeping the crews out of jail to keep the project on line. Now her time is split between
the similar tasks of handling the student tenants and her 15-month old daughter, Grace.
Bruce Hoeksema
Lawn & Cleanup Manager
Bruce came to Home Marketing Systems Inc.
after 20 years in the bedding plant business. His experience has become a tremendous asset
the company because of his multiple talents, dedication and attitude. His most famous line
is, "every day is a Saturday". He lives it. Its not uncommon to find him
in the shop at 3 am getting ready for the next day. Of Course, hes sleeping the next
day.
