Home Marketing Systems Inc. began as a typical property management company in 1984. Over the years, different services were added as a way to better compete in the marketplace for tenants. Several years ago the company CEO conceived of a new business paradigm that would build upon the concept of cross marketing within a divisional structure. The goal was to better serve our clients by taking advantage of service from within to improve our performance. That concept was later expanded to target inclusion of divisions that were also uniquely positioned to offer "special services" to the industry as a whole. The result has been unique synergy that improves the performance in each division beyond what they could do individually.
HMS Companies continues to diversify and in 2005 expects to announce a new acquisition arm dedicated to the purchasing of lender portfolios.

Michael Fleckenstein spent 20 years in the real estate management and marketing field. He specializes in residential portfolio investments, properties associated primarily with the college student market, and foreclosures. After graduating from WMU with a MA, Michael taught at the university level, worked as an environmental consultant and began investing in real estate. Michael is the President and CEO and primarily involved in corporate management, business development and real estate marketing. He is an avid bluegrass musician and is on the board of the Great Lakes Acoustic Music Association. When he's pickin' he's grinnin'.
